How to add a formula to your lesson in the new lesson editor

In the new lesson editor, you can easily create professional formulas for mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Our editor uses LaTeX code for this: a standard format for writing mathematical equations.

No experience with LaTeX?

No worries! There are numerous "Visual LaTeX Editors" available online. These allow you to build a formula by simply clicking on symbols, after which you can copy and paste the LaTeX code directly into our formula editor.

How to add a formula to your lesson

Open the new lesson editor and add a formula to your slide. You’ll find the formula in the row of components above your slide.

As soon as you click on Formula, a default formula will be added to your slide. You can edit this by clicking on the formula and adjusting the LaTeX code in the right-hand menu.

Type the code directly into the text field of the formula editor. The result will be displayed visually in real-time. You do not need to use dollar signs ($).

How to use the formula editor

1. Inserting basic formulas

2. Mathematics & Geometry

For calculations and functions, you can use these common commands:

3. Physics & Units

4. Chemistry
