Creating a quiz question in the new lesson editor

In this article, we explain the difference between the quiz question in the old and new lesson editor and how to create a quiz question in the new lesson editor.

Quiz question in the classic vs new lesson editor

The biggest and most important difference is that there are more formatting options for the quiz question in the new lesson editor. You now have the option to customise the formatting of the quiz question. The answer options take up less space so there is more room on the slide for extra text or images. In addition, longer answer options are possible.

How to create a quiz question in the new lesson editor

Step 1: Open the new lesson editor

Open the new lesson editor by clicking ‘New lesson’ in ‘My LessonUp’ and then clicking ‘Empty lesson’ under ‘New lesson editor’.

Step 2: Add a quiz question

Click on + Add Slide and choose Quiz Question. A quiz question will now be added to your lesson.

Step 3: Add the question and answer options

Add your question in the text box and add answer options in the white answer boxes. If you add two answer options, only 2 answer options will also be shown to the students/students. Mark the correct answer by checking the slider next to Correct.

Step 4: Extra formatting options

You can customise the quiz question by changing the background colour or by adding text, images or other components.

If you add a second textbox, you can recognise the textbox displayed as a question on the students' screen by the ‘Question’ label when you select the textbox. This way, it is always clear what text students see on their screens.
