If you click on the cogwheel icon (and then on the pencil icon) in a hotspot component, you will access its settings. What can you find here?
Title and text
A hotspot is an interactive button that you can add to a slide. The title is the text that appears when the hotspot hasn't been clicked yet, and the text appears when the hotspot is clicked.
The layout of the text can be extensively customised, and it's also possible to link a word/phrase to a website. This can be done by clicking on the chain icon.
Do you want to use subscript or superscript, perhaps to add emphasis? If so, click on the A button. Note that only the selected text will change its behaviour.
Colours, icons, and text
When a hotspot is placed on a slide, its colour is initially white. Of course, you can customise it to any desired colour.
The icon of a hotspot is easily customisable. Click on one of the options to change it. If you click on the pencil icon, you'll have access to even more icons.
The icon of a hotspot can also be replaced with text. This can be useful when using hotspots for numbered instructions, such as in a practical exercise. By checking "Use text instead of icon," a text field will appear.
You can also use an image instead of an icon. Click on 'Change image' to select your own imagery. If you wish to remove the image, click on 'Remove image'.
