Using additional symbols in the formula editor
Updated over a year ago

If there's one component in LessonUp that could be compared to the proverbial tip of the iceberg, it's the formula editor in LessonUp. This component, based on KaTeX, is so comprehensive that the majority of users might only explore a small portion of it in their daily use.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, of course. But if you wish to do more with the formula editor, it offers plenty of ready-made options to design and/or expand your formulas. When you open the formula editor using the +component button, you'll see a brief explanation on the left side, featuring some common formula abbreviations.

Clicking on the 'more' button will reveal additional symbols.

Want more options? Click on 'Show more symbols' at the bottom of the screen, and additional symbols will be displayed.

You can either retype the names of these symbols in the visual editor or copy and paste them in the text editor.
