In LessonUp, it is not (yet) possible to add a document as an attachment to your lesson. Nevertheless, you can easily include a document in your lesson for your students to view and/or edit*.
Sharing a document via a cloud service
Step 1
Place the document you want to share in a cloud service where you can share documents, such as OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox or another document service at your liking.
Step 2
Create a link in the cloud service. Although the platforms work differently, these actions are very similar. The images below show which buttons you use to do this in Google Drive.
Step 3
Copy the link to the document.
Step 4
To create a link in a slide, first select a word or phrase in the slide. Then you can use the button that looks like a chain to add a link.
Step 5
Add the link and press Ok.
Share a document as an image
If you want students to be able to view a document on their own, you can include a document as an image or PDF.
Step 1
Make sure your document is an image or PDF.
Step 2
Create an Image component via the +Component button. Upload the image of the document or PDF into LessonUp. For a PDF file, you can then select the page you want to use in the component.
Good to know: only one image can be placed per Image component
Step 3
Once the component is placed, you can adjust its size. It is also possible to set the image to be zoomable by the learner.
To do this, go to the component's settings, via the cogwheel and the pencil icon, and set that the image can zoom in during the presentation.
The advantage of this way is that you can put multiple images in one slide, making it more manageable for students and not directing them to another platform.
*optional and depending on the read and write permissions you have given to the document.
