For various reasons, you cannot directly upload a pre-made video to LessonUp. This article explains how you can achieve this by using YouTube.
Step 1
Create your video and save it on your computer.
Step 2
Go to YouTube and create a free account for this video service. If you already have a Google account, like Gmail, you can log in directly at the top right.
Step 3
Select Create a video or post at the top right, and then choose Upload video.
Step 4
Choose the file from your computer or drag the file to this screen.
Step 5
While the video is being uploaded to YouTube, the attributes (name, brief description) for the video need to be filled out. This occurs in three steps: Details, Video Elements, and Visibility. In the last step, you determine who can view the video. For a video to be visible in LessonUp, it cannot be set to Private. However, you can set the video to Unlisted. In this case, the video won't appear in YouTube's search results.
Good to know: YouTube checks all visibility options for copyright compliance with the videos.
Step 6
On the right side of this screen, you'll find the link to the video. You can copy it now (or later) to place it in your LessonUp lesson. Click Save at the bottom right. The video is now saved on YouTube.
Step 7
In LessonUp, select Video in the lesson components. Paste the link of the video from YouTube into the screen that appears.
Good to know: It may take some time for the video to be visible or reach the best quality. This delay is due to the processing process at YouTube.
