Why draw on your slides?
Live annotations keep your audience engaged and make explanations clear and visual:
Clarify and highlight: Circle key terms, underline main points, or draw arrows to draw attention to important details.
Live interaction: Jot down answers together, tally responses, or complete a task directly on the slide.
Keep track of time and notes: Quickly write down remaining time or note down a helpful reminder for the group.
How to start drawing
While presenting your lesson, you will find a pencil/pen icon in the control bar at the bottom of the screen.
Hover your mouse over the bottom of the screen.
Click the pen icon (labeled Draw).
The drawing toolbar will appear at the bottom, and you can immediately start writing or drawing on your slide.
Toolbar options
Once draw mode is open, you have several useful tools at your disposal:
Feature | Description |
Color selection | Choose from various colors (red, blue, green, black, and white) to make highlights stand out against any background. |
Pen thickness | Adjust the line thickness from fine (for text and notes) to extra thick (for prominent highlights). |
Pen / Eraser mode | Easily switch between drawing with the pen and precise erasing with the eraser tool. |
Undo & Redo | Use the left and right arrows to quickly undo or redo your last actions. |
Clear drawing | Want to start over? Click Clear drawing to erase all drawings on the current slide at once. |
Done | Click the blue Done button to exit the drawing menu and resume normal presentation navigation. |
Important: How saving drawings works
Here is how your browser handles drawings created during a session:
During your session: As long as you stay in the same browser window, your drawings remain on the slides. You can freely navigate back and forth between slides without losing your notes.
After closing: When you close the tab or browser, temporary drawings are automatically removed. This ensures you start with a clean presentation next time.
Your lesson remains 100% saved: Don't worry about your content — all original slides, images, questions, and settings remain safely stored in your account at all times.
Useful tips
Touchscreens and interactive whiteboards: Presenting on a touchscreen or digital whiteboard? You can write directly using your finger or stylus, just like a traditional board.
Color contrast: Use white or green on dark backgrounds, and red or black on light backgrounds for maximum readability across the room.
