With the Audio component in the new lesson editor, you can easily add sound to your lesson from spoken explanations and sound effects that make your lesson more engaging.
Adding audio
- Open a lesson in the new lesson editor and click Audio in the top toolbar.
You’ll find it alongside other components such as Text, Image, and Video.
- Choose how you’d like to add your audio file: - Upload audio file – select a file from your computer (for example, an mp3 or wav file).
- My uploads – choose an audio file you’ve uploaded previously.
- Record audio – record a new sound clip directly using your microphone.
- Link to audio – paste a URL to an audio file that’s hosted online.

While the file is uploading, you’ll see a progress bar. Once it’s finished, an audio icon will appear on your slide as a hotspot.
Adjusting settings
Click the audio icon to open the settings panel on the right-hand side. Here you can fine-tune how the audio behaves and looks.
Audio settings
- Replace audio – upload a different audio file.
- Start audio at / End audio at – define the exact time the clip starts and stops.
- Volume – set the volume between 0 and 100%.
- Loop audio – make the audio automatically repeat.
Appearance and style
In the Design section, you can customise the appearance of the audio icon:
- Title and text – add a short description or title to your audio clip.
- Expand direction – choose which way the player expands when active.
- Text colour, background colour, and border colour – adjust the icon’s colours.
- Progress bar colour – select a colour for the playback bar.
- Effects – add a small, medium, or large drop shadow.
- Transparency – make the icon more or less visible.
Layering and positioning
Want your audio icon to appear in front of or behind other elements on the slide?
Use:
- Bring to front – place the icon above other components.
- Send to back – move it behind other components.
You can also freely move the icon around or resize it using the corner handles.
