Use a theme in your lesson

Updated over a month ago

Themes are only available in the new lesson editor.

Why use a theme?

A theme instantly gives your slides a consistent look and feel. With one click, you can apply the same styling; fonts, colours, and component accents to the current slide or to all slides in the lesson.

Benefits:

  • Consistent, professional design across your lesson

  • Faster formatting (no manual styling per slide)

  • Interactive components (e.g., Hotspot, Spinner) automatically adopt the theme style

Note: Themes change the visual styling. Your text, images, and slide content stay exactly where they are.

How to apply a theme

  1. Open a lesson in the new lesson editor

2. In the right-hand Slide panel, click Theme.

3. Choose a theme (e.g., Warm).

4. You have several options when applying a theme:

  • Apply to a single slide: Only the currently selected slide gets a theme.

  • Apply to multiple slides: Select several slides at once, then apply the theme.

  • Apply to whole lesson: Turn on the setting ‘Apply to all slides’ and select a theme

5. Your whole lesson, including interactive components like Hotspot and Spinner, now adopts the selected theme.

Tips & good to know

  • Overwrite customisations: Settings you already customised on your slides will not change, unless you turn on ‘Reset’.

  • You can switch themes at any time. To revert, open Theme again and select Default or pick another theme.

  • Prefer to style just one slide? Leave All slides off and apply the theme to the current slide only.
