Adding a sorting question to your lesson

Updated over a week ago

A sorting question allows students to arrange items in the correct order. Think of historical events, steps in a process, or parts of a story. This activity helps develop an understanding of sequence and structure.

During the lesson, students drag the items into the order they believe is correct.
Afterwards, you can review the correct order together as a class.

Characteristics: structure, sequencing, logical thinking
Question type: closed, order-based
Design: easy
Learning technique options: ★★

How to add a sorting question to your lesson

  1. Click + Add slide and choose Sorting question.

  2. At the top, enter your question or prompt, for example:
“Put the steps of the water cycle in the correct order.”

  3. Then, add the items one by one in the correct order.
These could be events, instructions, process steps, or any other logical sequence.

During the lesson, students will see the items in random order and will drag them into the sequence they think is correct.
