Adding a poll to your lesson
A poll is a quick way to gather opinions, check understanding, or spark a class discussion. Pupils vote anonymously on a question with 2 to 6 answer options.
They see the poll on their own device and select the answer that suits them best. The results are shown live and anonymously to the teacher.

Follow these steps to add a poll
Poll - text
In your lesson, click + Add slide
Then select Poll
A new poll slide will appear with an empty question and two answer options. You can edit both the question and the answers to suit your lesson. For example:
Question:
“Which theme best fits the story we just read?”
Answers:
“Friendship”, “Courage”, “Loneliness”, “Growth”
You can add up to 6 answer options. Click ‘Add answer’ to include more. Want to keep it simple? Two options are also fine.
Poll - emoij
To add a Poll - emoji to your lesson, click + Add slide and then select Poll - emoji.
The slide includes five default emojis, representing a scale from very unhappy to very happy:
Next, edit the prompt above the emojis to suit your purpose. For example:
“How do you feel about today’s topic?”
“How confident do you feel about the upcoming test?”
“What mood are you in as we start this lesson?”
That’s it! The poll is now ready to use.
Extra tips
Polls are anonymous, making them ideal for collecting honest opinions.
Use them to introduce a new topic, wrap up a discussion, or quickly check understanding.
The results can spark further discussion or help clarify confusion.
Polls encourage participation from all students, including those who are usually more reserved.
