Summarise a lesson with AI in LessonUp

Updated yesterday

Create a clear overview of your lesson – perfect for revision or follow-up.

What does this AI tool do?

The Summarise a Lesson AI tool helps you quickly generate a structured summary of an existing LessonUp lesson. Whether you’re preparing a follow-up, offering a recap to your pupils, or sharing the key points with colleagues – this tool saves time and keeps your content focused.

The AI analyses your lesson slides and extracts the core information in the format and language of your choice.

How does it work?

1. Paste the link to your LessonUp lesson

Go to your lesson in LessonUp, copy the URL from your browser and paste it into the input field.

🔗 Example: https://www.lessonup.com/app/lesson/xxxxxxx/

2. Choose a summary format

Decide how you'd like the summary to appear:

  • 1 paragraph – a short overview

  • 500 words – more detailed, for deeper understanding

  • 5 bullet points – a clear list of key elements

You can also type a custom format like “3 key points and a concluding sentence”.

3. (Optional) Select a language

Want the summary in English, Dutch, or another language? Just select your preferred option. Perfect for bilingual classes or EAL learners.

4. Click “Summarise Lesson”

The AI will review your lesson slides, identify the most important content and generate a structured summary for you.

You can copy, edit or use the text straight away in your next lesson, email, or worksheet.

Example

You've created a lesson on renewable energy. You paste the link, select 5 bullet points and the language English.

The AI returns something like:

  • Introduction to renewable vs non-renewable sources

  • Examples: wind, solar, hydropower

  • Pros and cons of each source

  • Video: how solar panels work

  • Quiz recap to check understanding

Perfect for recapping key learning or starting your next lesson.

  • Sharing a summary with colleagues, parents or learners
